Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Repair Technician 1 to perform on-site or in-house repair of imaging products, including cameras, lenses, flash and related equipment.

You will diagnose mechanical, hardware, and software issues, perform repairs to Canon standards, prepare failure-trend analyses, and support high‑volume turnaround goals while maintaining documentation and collaborating with teammates.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required with less than one year of related experience.
• Fundamental knowledge of electromechanical equipment.
• Able to lift minimum 15 lbs in camera/lens/case weight.
• Basic level of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• At least six months repair experience of camera or optical products or two years in electronics.
• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools for repairs.
• Six months inspecting, testing, repairing or refurbishing electro-mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-house servicing and repair of imaging products, including cameras, lenses and flashes.
• Provide technical support to customers on operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software and system failures per procedures.
• Prepare reports analyzing product failure trends and service issues.
• Work on routine tasks with attention to detail and guided judgment.
• Repair equipment to Canon standards to ensure responsive service.
• Generate service revenue by repairing designated equipment.
• Maintain all Canon property and data records.
• Communicate with supervisor and other departments on technical/customer issues.
• Handle high-volume repairs to support turnaround time goals.
• Conduct product rework/modifications and new product inspections.
