SUMMARY

Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician prepares, packages, and distributes medications and pharmaceutical supplies.

  1. Assist patients at the point-of-sale.
  2. Collect payments, provide receipts, and prepare daily cash deposits.
  3. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the prescription pharmacy.
  4. Report operational issues to leadership and use reporting tools to facilitate resolutions.
  5. Review physicians' orders and transcribe necessary information into patients' drug profiles when appropriate.
  6. Control inventory and order medications based on PAR levels.
  7. Ensure medications are within their expiration date by performing monthly inspections.
  8. Return medications to stock and update patient profiles when appropriate.
  9. Greet customers courteously and professionally, utilizing AIDET principles.
  10. Answer telephones promptly and efficiently.
  11. Assemble patients' medications for pharmacist review.
  12. Assist in implementing workflows, process improvements, and organizational directives.
  13. Float to other pharmacies as needed, as determined by leadership.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program (preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician (preferred).
  • Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern licensed with the Georgia Board of Pharmacy.
  • PTCB certification preferred.
