Job summary

You will draft and draft briefs, conduct research, and appear in court and hearings; collaborate with support staff to advance clients’ interests. The ideal candidate has a JD from an accredited law school, California Bar admission (or pending), 0–2 years of relevant litigation experience, and strong research and writing abilities.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
• Active California State Bar membership or pending admission is required.
• 0–2 years of relevant litigation or employment law experience preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills are essential.
• Familiarity with discovery, California civil procedure, and employment law fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Lexis+ AI, Westlaw, MS Office, and case management software (FileVine, Clio).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth legal research on employment and procedural issues using Lexis+ AI, Westlaw, and other databases.
• Draft and revise pleadings, motions, discovery documents, memoranda, and correspondence.
• Prepare mediation briefs, trial briefs, and pre-trial filings.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools for legal analysis and drafting efficiency.
• Draft, review, and respond to written discovery; summarize depositions and prepare case materials.
• Develop and execute litigation strategy in coordination with senior attorneys.
• Communicate with clients regarding case updates and strategy.
• Appear in court, mediations, and depositions as required.
• Coordinate with paralegals and staff to ensure file accuracy and deadlines.
