Job summary

TenCate Americas is seeking an energetic Associate Business Development Manager to grow revenue in a California territory. This field-based role emphasizes prospecting, client outreach, and developing long-term relationships with schools, municipalities, and sports facilities.

The position involves learning our products, performing lead generation, and progressively taking on more account ownership as experience grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years in sales, business development, or related roles; construction, sports, capital equipment, or landscaping experience is a plus.
• Ability to learn ROI-driven discussions and financial concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel approximately 60–75% within the California territory.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue prospective customers and project opportunities.
• Support development and execution of territory business development plans.
• Conduct sales calls, site visits, presentations, and client meetings with senior team members.
• Learn and apply value-based selling methods, including ROI discussions.
• Build relationships with school districts, municipalities, athletic directors, architects, contractors, and other decision-makers.
• Maintain CRM activity and weekly pipeline reporting.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Estimating, Operations, and Sales Leadership.
• Attend trade shows and client events; represent TenCate professionally.
• Develop knowledge of TenCate product lines, competition, and market trends.
