Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates in Atherton, California seeks a Payroll Specialist to manage biweekly payroll, maintain employee data, and ensure compliance with California and federal wage-and-hour laws.

The role requires strong Excel skills, HRIS/timekeeping experience, and meticulous attention to detail; CPP or FPC is preferred. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and external providers to deliver accurate payroll.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of progressively responsible payroll experience, including California payroll.
• Working knowledge of California and federal wage-and-hour requirements, including FLSA and deductions.
• Experience using an HRIS/payroll and timekeeping system; audits and reports.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end biweekly payroll process from inputs to payroll close.
• Coordinate inputs from HR, managers, timekeeping systems, and external providers.
• Review and audit timekeeping, hours, premiums, leave, and deductions for accuracy.
• Maintain payroll-related employee data in HRIS and timekeeping systems.
• Administer payroll per CA, federal, and local wage-and-hour requirements.
