Job summary

Comrise is seeking an HR Generalist to manage onboarding and offboarding, verify I-9s, and handle employee inquiries about policies and benefits in California. You will support payroll, leave administration, and worker’s compensation coordination while maintaining compliant HR records.

The role requires 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, strong knowledge of CA labor laws, and experience with HRIS and MS Office/Google Workspace. A BA in HR or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist or related HR experience.
• Solid working knowledge of California employment and labor laws.
• Experience supporting onboarding, benefits, leave administration, and HR compliance.
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including offer letters, new-hire documentation, I-9 verification, and exit procedures.
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, leave, and workplace concerns.
• Support employee relations matters, conduct initial fact-finding, and escalation sensitive issues appropriately.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while protecting confidential information.
• Assist with payroll, benefits enrollment, leave administration, and workers’ compensation coordination.
• Ensure HR policies and practices comply with California labor laws, including wage-and-hour, meal/rest breaks, paid sick leave, leave of absence, and personnel-file requirements.
• Support performance review, training, engagement, and workplace culture initiatives.
• Help update employee handbooks, HR policies, and compliance postings as needed.
