Job summary

Sea-Bird Scientific in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Calibration Lead to serve as a technical leader within our Calibration organization. You will perform advanced calibrations on a broad range of instrumentation and manage calibration records.

The role requires an associate degree and at least four years in calibration or related environments; you will mentor technicians, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and R&D.

Qualifications

• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty and data interpretation.
• Ability to independently evaluate complex technical issues.
• Experience in quality environments or regulated manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced calibrations on a broad range of instrumentation and sensor technologies.
• Operate and maintain calibration equipment and test setups.
• Analyze calibration results, evaluate performance, and drift.
• Troubleshoot complex calibration, equipment, process, and product issues.
• Maintain calibration records and manage workflow in software systems.
• Mentor and train technicians; lead Kaizen and continuous improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, and Operations to resolve challenges.
• Develop and refine procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and reliability.
• Communicate priorities and risks effectively; back up departmental leadership when needed.
