Job summary

Applied Technical Services (ATS) Cal-Tek North Billerica, MA seeks a Lab Manager to lead calibration operations, supervise technicians, ensure quality and safety, and grow our calibration services footprint in the Boston area.

You will plan, coordinate, and evaluate all technical activities, perform calibration when needed, and partner with sales to deliver service to clients; travel up to 25% and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of calibration experience with a minimum of 3 years in supervision/management.
• Experience managing a team, hiring, goal setting, and coaching for performance.
• Growth-oriented background with client engagement and strong relationships.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to technicians in day-to-day responsibilities.
• Manage calibration services and supplies focusing on quality, safety, and compliance.
• Coordinate with customers to deliver calibration services.
• Assist sales teams with marketing and promotion of calibration services.
• Manage service agreements and procurement of supplies/equipment.
• Ensure resources meet customer requirements and service commitments.
• Evaluate department performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Maintain hands-on calibration capability for department’s equipment.
• Lead, train, and develop calibration staff.
