Hy-Vee is hiring a Bakery Cake Designer in Rochester, MN. You will use decorating skills to bring customer visions to life, from birthday to wedding cakes, and lead part-time staff to keep production running smoothly.

You’ll greet customers, take orders, check details, decorate items, and assist with daily bakery operations while maintaining clean, safe work areas and delivering high-quality products to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or less related work experience; training provided.
• Ability to follow decorating designs and recipes accurately.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take cake orders at the bakery counter.
• Check orders, timelines, and production schedules; ensure details are correct.
• Decorate cakes and bakery items and keep up with trends and designs.
• Coordinate with bakers to determine cake sizes and deco packs for daily orders.
• Lead and train part-time staff; assist with cross-training and safety procedures.
• Deliver wedding cakes on-site and set up displays as needed.
• Maintain sanitation standards and keep the work area clean and organized.
