Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Bakery Cake Designer in our Bakery department. You will turn customer visions into beautiful cakes, including wedding cakes delivered and set up on site, while leading part-time staff and collaborating with the bakery team.

We value creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for customer service as you help create memorable moments for shoppers in a fast-paced environment. Must be 18+ and able to work flexible hours with daily production planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; we'll provide all the training you need to succeed

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer with a smile, taking orders at the bakery counter, and assisting them with their needs throughout the store
• Decorate bakery items in a timely manner, keeping current on new designs and trends
• Develop daily bakery orders for bakers including cakes and sizes needed
• Lead and supervise part-time employees and coordinate with the Bakery Manager
• Ensure proper sanitation and keep the work area clean, neat, and safe at all times
