Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about store products
• Learn department products and respond to questions with helpful suggestions
• Offer product samples and prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment
• Recommend bakery items to customers to meet needs and preferences
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates and operate bakery equipment per guidelines
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes and other bakery items
• Label, stock, sign and inventory department merchandise
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Know the store layout and locate products for customers and stay updated on ads
• Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions
