Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, and specialty items. You will use artistic skills to finish bakery goods, while maintaining quality standards and supporting store programs and food safety.

Responsibilities include decorating cakes, following recipes, assisting apprentices, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with intermediate piping techniques.
• Color theory knowledge for buttercream color blending and palette coordination.
• Adhere to recipes, directions, and food safety procedures.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to meet daily production goals.
• Able to communicate clearly with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Follow standard procedures to meet business demand and maintain records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products and maintain display case freshness and rotation.
• Guide and support Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
