Whole Foods Market in Mount Pleasant, SC, seeks a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items, using artistic skills to deliver eye-catching, high-quality products while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

You will lead decorating tasks, assist apprentices, handle customer requests, and ensure accurate labeling and pricing, with flexibility for nights and weekends as required by store needs.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills.
• Intermediate piping techniques; create decorative flowers and borders.
• Color theory for buttercream colors and coordinating palettes.
• Ability to follow recipes, directions, and procedures; effective time management and organization.
• Advanced knife handling and equipment safety.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures to meet business demand; complete production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products; monitor quality and rotation in the display case.
• Provide guidance and support for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to customers promptly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment and adhere to safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties; ensure accurate signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
