Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Los Angeles seeks a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special orders with artistic skill. You will ensure quality by following procedures and upholding food safety standards while supporting store programs and core values.

Must have 6–12 months of retail/restaurant experience and complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice program or equivalent. Wage range starts at $20.00 per hour and can go up to $30.20 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Bakery Decorator Apprentice training or equivalent.
• Prior bakery or grocery retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and pastries.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes to meet demand; complete production records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure freshness.
• Provide guidance to Apprentice and team members.
• Create special-order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond promptly to needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work and shopping environment; follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties; ensure correct signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
