Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items with artistry and precision. You will decorate, finish, and present bakery goods, maintain cleanliness and safety, and provide friendly service to customers while supporting team members in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires physical stamina and flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure freshness and correct rotation.
• Provide guidance to Bakery Decorator Apprentices and Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist with phones and pages promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and adhere to safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure accurate signage/pricing.
