Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a skilled Bakery Decorator to create and finish cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items. You will apply artistic decorating techniques, manage time efficiently, and ensure product quality and display standards.

The role requires 6–12 months of retail or restaurant experience and completion of the Bakery Decorator Apprentice program or equivalent. Strong teamwork and customer service are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures to meet business demand and maintain records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the display case while ensuring freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance and support for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other team members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist with phones and pages as needed.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace and comply with safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure accurate signage and pricing.
