Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Bakery Clerk to deliver friendly guest service while handling cake and bakery duties in a fast-paced store environment.

The role involves icing, decorating, labeling, maintaining product freshness, fulfilling requested bakery tasks, and maintaining sanitation across the cooler, prep area, and sales floor. Prioritizing guest requests and accurate color mixing are essential to ensure quality and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• Prepare product for sale (icing, decorating, pricing, packaging and labeling).
• Maintain product level, quality and freshness.
• When requested perform bakery clerk functions.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area and sales area.
• Properly cleans work area, couplers and decorating bags.
• Maintain the organization of the freezer, including proper rotation of product according to variety.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor.
• Keep supply area neat, clean and tidy at all times.
• Properly rotates icings and reads dates.
• Use cake manual as reference material.
• Write on cakes.
• Mix colors according to color chart.
• Master the use of the airbrush.
• Use cake production sheet.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the cake section of the bakery.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Performs Front Porch duties to ensure guest arrival standard is maintained.
• Announce specials and sale info on the PA system.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
