Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a friendly Bakery Clerk to greet guests, prepare and decorate bakery items, and ensure product quality and freshness. You will support sales, label products, and help maintain a clean, organized bakery area to delight shoppers.

The role emphasizes guest service, teamwork, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards, with physical duties including lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for long periods. Training is provided on bakery procedures.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• Prepare product for sale (icing, decorating, pricing, packaging and labeling).
• Maintain product level, quality and freshness.
• When requested perform bakery clerk functions.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area and sales area.
• Keep the supply area neat, clean and tidy.
• Announce specials and sale info on the PA system.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
