Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm

Job Description

WORK DIMENSIONS

• The temporary cage wash/logistic technician will perform tasks as described in Veterinary Sciences departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Clean and sterilize animal cages, feeders, bottles, and other equipment using autoclaves and other sanitization tools. Assist in planning workflow priorities and staging materials.
• Clean empty animal rooms and maintain cleanliness in animal quarters and related spaces.
• Perform minor assembly, lubrication, adjustments, and repairs to cages and equipment using hand tools, as needed.
• Record readings of machine indicators such as temperature tapes and autoclave test ampoules.
• Receive and store supplies like feed and bedding.
• Keep storage and animal areas stocked. Assemble, clean, and use transfer carts.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and SOPs. Report errors promptly to supervisors.
• Moderate physical effort required, including intermittent heavy lifting.
• Medical screening prior to employment is required to assess for allergies, asthma, or physical conditions that could pose risks in this environment.
• Frequent exposure to biohazards, odors, heat, noise, animal excrement, and potential toxic test compounds.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.
