Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. (MCW) is seeking a Facility Support role focused on animal housing, sanitation, and facility operations.

You will sanitize cages, maintain equipment, monitor environments, and help with shipments and waste disposal while supporting training of staff and contributing to efficiency initiatives. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or higher, 2+ years experience, and strong attention to detail with good teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laboratory animal facility operations and sanitation methods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate dependability.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize, organize, and maintain animal cages and equipment using washers and autoclaves.
• Monitor environment and equipment and document data against standards.
• Receive and process shipments; assist with waste disposal following procedures.
• Provide guidance and informal training to Facility Support Technician I staff.
• Assist with special projects and cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and participate in continuous improvement.
