Job summary

New London Public Schools is seeking a Cafeteria/General Worker I to prepare and serve meals district-wide. You will report to the Child Nutrition Program Director and help maintain a clean kitchen and dining area while supporting students in a friendly environment.

Responsibilities include meal prep, serving, basic cashiering in some roles, and upholding health and safety standards. Bilingual Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food, including cleaning of the kitchen area and cooking equipment.
  • Ability to understand written material, rules, regulations, and apply the material to the position.
  • Customer service is a major component of ensuring that students have a friendly, courteous and welcoming environment.

Position Overview:To prepare and serve food as directed.

  • Carrying: (Frequent) transporting an object 5 to 10lbs. by hand, arm, or shoulder.

Preferred Requirements:
