Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking a part-time food service aide for the school cafeteria. You will support meal service, assist with basic food preparation, and help keep the kitchen and dining area clean and safe.

The position requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow sanitation procedures. Training and the opportunity to work within a team‑oriented district are provided.

Qualifications

• Food service experience desirable.
• No high school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license with access to transportation.

Responsibilities

• Operates dishwashing equipment and maintains clean tables and areas.
• Assists in routine food preparation activities.
• Serves food items to students and staff as assigned.
• Keeps the work area neat, clean, and organized; follows safety procedures.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
