Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is hiring a Full-time Cafeteria-Food Service Worker for a private school in Norfolk, VA. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, with hourly pay.

You will greet customers, operate registers and equipment, assist in food preparation and service, maintain cleanliness, and participate in safety and training activities. Growth opportunities and a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are highlighted in the posting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.
• Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and job duties.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges efficiently.
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria; assist in setup, maintenance, and breakdown of the cafeteria, food serving, and beverage areas.
• Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables.
• Assist in preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and store food properly respecting temperature guidelines.
• Keep dining room areas and kitchen areas neat and organized.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment during and after meals.
• Maintain cleanliness of another kitchen area by following cleaning assignments.
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participate in safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.

Me riwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Food Service Associate at a private school located in the heart of Norfolk, VA.

• Must be available to work: Monday-Friday, 8a-3:30p

What you will do:

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria: assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of the cafeteria, food serving, and beverage areas
• Serves and replenishes food from food counters and steam tables
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage
• Keep dining room areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of another kitchen area by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments
• Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
