Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is hiring a Food Service Associate in Washington, DC. This full-time, 9-month position operates on a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7 am to 2:30 pm, with a starting hourly pay around $19.50.

You will greet customers, assist in catering operations, and handle registers and food service tasks while maintaining clean, safe dining and kitchen areas. Growth opportunities exist in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Formación

• 1–2 years of related food service experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment throughout shifts.
• Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments.

What the Food Service Associate will do:

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude
• Helps to oversee that catering activities run smoothly
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner
• Transport food and supplies to the serving area: assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of dining, food serving, and beverage areas.
• Serves and replenishes food from food counters and steam tables.
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Keep dining room areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments
• Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
