Job summary

Samoset Resort in Rockport, ME seeks a Cafeteria Attendant to help maintain a clean, welcoming dining area and support food and beverage service.

You will assist with stocking stations, buffet setup, and hygiene standards while delivering friendly service to guests and associates.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide food and beverage service per hotel standards.

Job Summary

The Hotel Cafeteria Attendant is responsible for providing cleanliness in the cafeteria, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment. This role includes assisting with food and beverage service, maintaining the cleanliness of the cafeteria, and ensuring that all associates have a positive and enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Food and Beverage Service: Ensuring proper presentation and portion sizes according to hotel standards.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure that dining tables, chairs, floors, and all areas of the cafeteria are clean and well-maintained at all times. Clean spills and crumbs promptly and wipe down surfaces as needed.
• Stocking and Restocking: Monitor food stations, ensuring items are replenished regularly throughout service. Restock beverages, condiments, napkins, and utensils as required.
• Monitor Food Safety Standards: Adhere to proper food handling and safety regulations, ensuring that food is stored, prepared, and served in a hygienic manner.
• Assist in Buffet Setup: Help in setting up buffet tables or food stations, ensuring that food items are neatly arranged, labeled and maintained throughout the meal period.
• Problem Resolution: Address any complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, reporting serious issues to the supervisor or manager.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other cafeteria attendants, kitchen staff, and management to ensure the smooth operation of the cafeteria.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or food service role, preferably in a hotel or cafeteria setting.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and making change.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness.

Physical Requirements

Working Conditions

Schedule
