Job summary

UMBC is seeking a Food Service Supervisor – Assistant Manager for the OCA Mocha café. You will coordinate daily café operations, uphold food safety standards, and provide hands-on guidance to team members during shifts, supporting the General Manager to keep service running smoothly.

Responsibilities include shift coordination, direct customer service, compliance, monitoring, and staff training. The position is full-time, temporary for 6 months with potential renewal, paying $21 per hour; 6

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in cafe, food service, hospitality or retail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations and coordinate tasks to meet demand.
• Process POS transactions and address customer inquiries promptly.
• Enforce health, safety and cash-handling policies.
• Monitor station readiness, inventory, and timekeeping.
• Onboard and train staff on standard procedures and quality.
