Job summary

UMBC's OCA Mocha space seeks a Food Service Supervisor - Assistant Manager to oversee daily café operations on campus. You will guide shift teams, ensure quality and safety, and support the General Manager during service hours.

Responsibilities include coordinating workflow, handling POS transactions, maintaining inventory, and training staff on SOPs. This temporary role offers a 6‑month contract with renewal possibilities and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in café/food service, hospitality, or retail.
• Ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily café operations and guide team on shifts.
• Handle customer transactions and address inquiries.
• Enforce health, safety, and university policies.
• Monitor inventory, quality, and shift notes; report concerns.
• Onboard and train staff on SOPs and quality standards.
