Colectivo Coffee in Evanston, IL is seeking a Café Shift Leader to guide daily operations and deliver a remarkable guest experience. Reporting to the Café Manager, you will lead a team, uphold SOPs, and help optimize financial results while maintaining Colectivo’s mission and values.

The ideal candidate has hospitality supervisory experience, strong POS skills, and the ability to train staff, manage schedules including evenings/weekends/holidays, and communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

• College degree in a business-related field.
• Minimum of 6 months work experience in hospitality or supervisory role.
• Proficient with POS and computer programs.
• Basic math skills for business use.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• English reading and writing proficiency.
• Colectivo Café training programs completed (Register, SB, 300 level bar certification, New Hire Orientation).

Responsibilities

• Deliver café’s positive financial results in accordance with the budget.
• Develop and maintain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement adhering to SOPs and processes.
• Train and develop co-workers for responsibilities to ensure high performance.
• Delegate specific responsibilities using Café Functional Architecture Model.
• Ensure the café’s coffee, food and administrative functions provide a remarkable customer experience.
• Maintain a positive and inviting tone for customers and co-workers.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Position Summary

The Café Shift Leader will provide leadership to deliver a remarkable experience for our customers and co-workers as it relates to Colectivo Coffee’s Mission and Values, under the supervision of the Café Manager.

Specific Responsibilities

• Deliver café’s positive financial results in accordance to budget.
• Develop and maintain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement that adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes.
• Train and develop co-workers for the responsibilities of their jobs, which ensure a high level of their overall performance.
• Delegate specific responsibilities using Café Functional Architecture Model.
• Ensures the café’s coffee, food and administrative functions provide a remarkable customer experience with Colectivo’s people, products and environments.
• Develop and maintain a positive and lively tone that is inviting and encouraging to our customers and co-workers.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

• College degree in a business-related field and/or a minimum of 6 months work experience in a hospitality setting and/or a supervisory role.

• Availability and flexibility for schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend and lift a minimum of 50lbs.

• Completed Colectivo Café training programs – Register, SB, 300 level bar certification, New Hire Orientation.

Wage includes an average tip of $7.00 per hour. Tip amounts are not guaranteed. Actual tips may vary based on a variety of factors including location, position, hours, and quality of service.
