Job summary

7 Leaves Café in Monrovia, CA is seeking a Shift Lead to support the manager and keep cafe operations running smoothly when the manager isn’t onsite. The role focuses on delegating tasks, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and delivering consistent service during busy periods.

This position typically requires 25–30 hours per week with varied shifts from morning to early afternoon, and a pay rate of $20.00–$20.50 per hour (non-exempt).

Qualifications

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology/computer systems (i.e. Excel, attendance system, ordering system, etc.)
• Have excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage bakery operations independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all operations are consistently maintained to a high standard with or without a manager present
• Remaining calm in stressful or unexpected situations to ensure smooth operations while assisting team members adapting to the circumstances
• Communicating clearly and effectively with team members and manager to ensure smooth transitions and prevent miscommunication
• Creating a positive team environment by paying attention to changes or difficulties team members may be experiencing
• Assisting team members to solve problems and increase efficiency in their performance
• Executing closing duties, opening duties, and general bakery operations and is consistent with punctuality and attendance on scheduled shifts
• Ensuring all orders and inventory are received and organized accordingly
• Following all health, safety, and sanitation procedures and ensure all team members are following those procedures
• Performing other duties as assigned
