Job summary

7 Leaves Café in Monrovia, CA is seeking a Shift Lead to assist the manager with daily cafe operations, ensuring tasks get done, and a clean, safe environment when the manager isn’t present.

The position is 25–30 hours per week, onsite with typical shifts from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on weekdays. Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs, be tech-savvy, and communicate well to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology/computer systems (i.e. Excel, attendance system, ordering system).
• Excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage bakery operations independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and walking.
• Eagerness to learn and build on constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cafe operations are maintained to a high standard with or without a manager present.
• Remain calm in stressful or unexpected situations to ensure smooth operations while assisting team members.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and manager to ensure smooth transitions and prevent miscommunication.
• Create a positive team environment by paying attention to changes or difficulties team members may be experiencing.
• Assist team members to solve problems and increase efficiency in their performance.
• Executing opening and closing duties and general bakery operations and is consistent with punctuality and attendance on scheduled shifts.
• Ensuring all orders and inventory are received and organized accordingly.
• Following all health, safety, and sanitation procedures and ensure all team members are following those procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $20.00 - $20.50 (Non-Exempt)

About the Role

In this role, the Shift Lead will contribute to our company's success by assisting the manager in executing and maintaining operations at our cafe establishment. They are responsible for delegating tasks, maintaining a safe and clean environment for our team members, and ensuring all operations run smoothly when the manager is not present.

This position regularly demands 25-30 hours per week. Work hours vary depending on orders placed but can be discussed. Generally, weekdays are between 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
