Job summary

7 Leaves Café in Monrovia, CA is hiring a Shift Lead to support the cafe's daily operations when the manager is away. You will delegate tasks, maintain safety and cleanliness, and help ensure smooth service during busy periods.

This part-time role typically yields 25–30 hours weekly, with weekday shifts from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and involves lifting up to 50 lbs, using POS and ordering systems, and fostering a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology/computer systems (Excel, attendance system, ordering system).
• Excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage cafe operations independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all operations are consistently maintained to a high standard with or without a manager present
• Remaining calm in stressful or unexpected situations to ensure smooth operations while assisting team members adapting to the circumstances.
• Communicating clearly and effectively with team members and manager to ensure smooth transitions and prevent miscommunication
• Creating a positive team environment by paying attention to changes or difficulties team members may be experiencing
• Assisting team members to solve problems and increase efficiency in their performance
• Executing opening and closing duties, and general cafe operations with punctuality and attendance
• Ensuring all orders and inventory are received and organized accordingly
• Following all health, safety, and sanitation procedures and ensure all team members are following those procedures
• Performing other duties as assigned

About the Role:

In this role, the Shift Lead will contribute to our company's success by assisting the manager in executing and maintaining operations at our cafe establishment. They are responsible for delegating tasks, maintaining a safe and clean environment for our team members, and ensuring all operations run smoothly when the manager is not present.

This position regularly demands 25-30 hours per week. Work hours vary depending on orders placed but can be discussed. Generally, weekdays are between 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology/computer systems (i.e. Excel, attendance system, ordering system, etc.)
• Have excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to manager bakery operations independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and walking
• Eagerness to learn and build on constructive feedback
