Job summary

Fire Creek Services Company, on behalf of Sweetwater Cafe, seeks a full-time Café Manager to oversee day-to-day cafe operations at the FASTC site in Blackstone, VA, under the U.S. Department of State.

The role requires 10+ years in food service and 5+ years in management, with high school diploma and associates desired; supervision, training, safety, and customer service are core. Travel locally as needed and core Mon-Fri with occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in the food service industry.
• 5+ years of management experience in food service.
• High School Diploma required; an Associates degree or equivalent is desired.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food service operations and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and stress management skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and maintain composure.
• Experience serving large groups or events and in government settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor COGs.
• Recruit, train, and supervise café staff.
• Coach staff to improve performance and handle personnel issues.
• Ensure customer needs are met and resolve complaints.
• Maintain positive employee morale and teamwork.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
