Job summary

Savannah Technical College seeks a Café Manager to run daily café operations, lead staff, ensure food safety, and deliver exceptional customer service in a college setting.

You will coordinate with Baking and Pastry Arts faculty to blend student projects into daily offerings, mentor student workers, manage inventory and POS transactions, and support budget and promotional initiatives.

Qualifications

• ServSafe Manager certification is required.
• Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or Baking and Pastry Arts from an accredited college.
• 5 years of verifiable culinary or baking pastry experience within past 7 years, with at least 1 year in a management role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily café operations, including opening, closing, staffing and customer service.
• Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, food safety and regulatory compliance.
• Manage inventory, ordering, receiving and storage of supplies.
• Handle POS systems, cash handling, deposits and daily sales reporting.
• Monitor product quality, merchandising and visual presentation.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate student products and maximize learning.
• Mentor and supervise student workers and interns in café operations.
• Assist with budget planning and expense management; analyze sales trends.
