Job summary

Cartel Roasting Co. in Phoenix seeks a General Manager to lead our cafés. You’ll work hands-on with teams, coach staff, and own daily store performance, guest experience, and beverage quality.

You’ll partner with the Retail Operations Manager to grow sales, optimize scheduling and labor, reduce waste, and ensure Food Safety and hospitality standards across locations.

The position is full-time with salary, benefits, coffee perks, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in coffee, restaurants, hospitality, retail, or another fast-paced customer-facing environment.
• Experience coaching and developing teams.
• Comfort with managing schedules, labor, inventory, and multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation and performance of assigned Phoenix locations.
• Lead, coach, and develop store teams while creating a consistent employee and guest experience across locations.
• Hire, onboard, train, and develop employees.
• Build strong store cultures while holding teams accountable to company expectations and standards.
• Oversee scheduling and staffing based on the needs of each location.
• Monitor key performance indicators including sales, labor, waste, and other controllable costs.
• Partner with the Retail Operations Manager to identify opportunities and improve store performance.
• Maintain standards around beverage quality, service, cleanliness, food safety, and overall store environment.
• Coach employees through performance concerns and identify opportunities for continued development.
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational systems are consistently followed.
• Oversee inventory, ordering, and product availability while working to reduce unnecessary waste.
• Troubleshoot store issues and communicate operational needs as they arise.
