Equator Coffees in Larkspur, CA is seeking a Bench General Manager - Retail Café. This role involves shadowing current store managers, partnering with the District Manager, and developing the team while focusing on scheduling, payroll accuracy, and customer service.

You will lead hiring, training, and staff development, drive sales, monitor KPIs, and help ensure financial performance in a fast-paced environment. This learning path prepares you for running a future home store.

Qualifications

• Passion for coffee and the ability to inspire others.
• Experience managing a profitable single café/restaurant.
• Must maintain current state-issued SERVSafe Manager Certificate.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and managing staff.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both oral and written.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Willing to work full-time (>45 hours/week) including early mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Shadow store managers and work with the District Manager to learn the role.
• Hire, train, and develop store team under guidance of seasoned managers.
• Create schedules balancing business and employee needs; manage payroll accurately.
• Drive sales and monitor KPIs with the District Manager; identify improvement areas.
• Foster a positive environment and effective team communication.
• Lead change and adapt to a fast-paced cafe environment.
