Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a Food Service Worker to safely assemble, distribute and serve meals for patients, visitors, and staff. This role supports hospital food service operations and emphasizes quality, cleanliness and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The position does not provide direct patient care and requires at least a high school diploma and some food service experience. Onsite work with rotating shifts and competitive hourly pay is offered.

Qualifications

  • Previous food service experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English (role dependent).
  • Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and serve food for patient tray line, cafeteria, and retail areas
  • Set up, stock, and maintain food service stations for meal service
  • Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
  • Adhere to HACCP and department food safety standards
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly
  • Assist with food preparation for tray line and cafeteria operations
  • Operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform routine cleaning tasks
  • Monitor supplies and report shortages or concerns to leadership
  • Support department goals to improve operations and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and sanitation projects
  • Assist with training and cross-training of team members

Job Summary

The Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to the safe assembly, distribution and service of food for Hospital patients; visitors. The Food Service Worker supports hospital food service operations by safely preparing, assembling, and delivering meals to patients, visitors, and staff. This role ensures high-quality service, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced environment. This position does not provide direct patient care.

Key Responsibilities
