Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Café Attendant to deliver welcoming, guest-focused service in a fast-paced hotel café environment. You will assist with light food preparation, buffet and grab-and-go service, and ensure spaces are clean, stocked, and guest-ready throughout shifts.

Ideal candidates bring hospitality or food-service experience, strong communication and teamwork, and comfort with POS systems. Flexibility for mornings, weekends, and events is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in cafe/food service preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong guest service mindset.
• Knowledge of basic food safety standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, attentive guest service across café, breakfast, buffet, and grab-and-go operations.
• Prepare and replenish light food offerings including breakfast items, snacks, pastries, coffee, beverages, salads, and grab-and-go products.
• Monitor buffet and café stations to ensure food quality, freshness, cleanliness, presentation, and stock levels.
• Assist with basic food preparation, setup, portioning, and presentation according to hotel and food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across café spaces, buffet stations, beverage areas, seating areas, and service counters.
• Restock food, beverages, utensils, condiments, cups, plates, and operational supplies throughout shifts.
• Operate POS systems and process guest transactions accurately as needed.
• Follow food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, HACCP guidelines, and hotel operational standards at all times.
• Assist with opening duties, closing side work, inventory support, and operational setup or breakdown tasks.
• Partner closely with Culinary, Stewarding, and Food & Beverage teams to support smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.
• Support banquet, catering, breakfast, and high-volume service periods as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.
