Job summary

Badlands National Park invites applications for a Café Associate to prepare food and beverages per recipes and standards, with flexibility across food prep, packaging, cashiering and beverage orders.

Responsibilities include serving guests, maintaining cleanliness, adhering to safety and cash handling procedures, and obtaining ServSafe or State Food Handler Certification. Must be able to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Café experience (1 year minimum preferred) Customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, storage, sanitation and commercial kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Café Manager and/or Lead in ensuring that Food and Beverage items are prepared and served according to recipes and Company standards.
  • Provide exceptional guest service.
  • Clean and maintain all assigned areas throughout shift, keeping all “First Guest Fresh”.
  • Work individually and with the team, to surpass expectations in an efficient, motivated and positive, can‑do manner.
  • Adhere to Company recipes and Safe Food Handling procedures.
  • Complete all required food and safety logs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Obtain ServSafe and or State Food Handler Certification.
  • Be available to work a variety of day, night, weekend and holiday shifts as requested.
  • Adhere to Company Cash Handling Procedures.
  • Understand Company’s Environmental & Quality commitments and systems.
  • Follow all Health and Safety standards, policies, and initiatives.
  • Complete assigned duties, checklists and other tasks as assigned.

Summary of Position

Responsible for preparing food and beverage items in accordance with recipes and established Company standards to deliver extraordinary hospitality. This position requires the flexibility to work in food preparation, packaging, cashiering and fulfilling beverage orders.

Position Requirements
  • Knowledge of food preparation, storage, sanitation and commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities in a positive and productive way.
  • Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment and in close proximity to other people.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting will be required.
Knowledge and Experience

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Café experience (1 year minimum preferred) Customer service experience.
