The Camas School District seeks a Substitute Secretary to provide temporary administrative and clerical support across school offices. You will assist with phones, attendance, records, and communications while ensuring a welcoming environment for students, families, staff, and the community.

Reports to: Principal and/or District Administrator
Status: Substitute / On-Call
Purpose: The Substitute Secretary provides temporary administrative and clerical support to assist with the efficient operation of a school or district office during the absence of regular office staff. The position provides support to administrators, staff, students, families, and the public.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Generally, the job requires 50% sitting, 30% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

School Employee Benefit Board (SEBB) Eligibility determination: All eligibility determinations are based on rules in Chapters 182-30 and 182-31 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Substitutes can become benefit eligible after 2 consecutive years of working 630 hours or more, and be anticipated to work 630 hours going forward. SEBB benefits include medical, vision, dental, long-term disability and life insurance. Supplemental coverages are also available.
Retirement Eligibility determination: In order to be eligible for retirement as a substitute, the minimum eligibility requirement for SERS retirement plan must work at least 5 months of 70 or more hours of compensated employment for 2 consecutive years. It is the employee's responsibility to monitor and track compensated employment hours for eligibility.
