Job summary

HDR New England is seeking a CADD Technician to join the Power Delivery team in New England. You will draft and edit electric substation, distribution, and transmission line drawings, applying standard CAD techniques under supervision.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of relevant drafting experience, familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and a solid grasp of engineering concepts. This on-site role supports multiple New England locations, including Bedford and Manchester, NH.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical school degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiar with CAD software and drafting workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify electric substation drawings, distribution drawings, and transmission line drawings.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps and graphical representations using CAD tools.
• Perform additional drafting duties as needed.

HDR New England is seeking a CADD Technician to join our growing, nationally ranked Power Delivery team. Building on your established expertise in drafting and design, you will step into a role responsible for creating and/or modifying electric substation drawings, distribution drawings, and transmission line drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform discipline specific drafting assignments requiring application of standardized drawing techniques, under the direct supervision of an Architect/Engineer, or other technical professional
• Prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps and graphic representations of engineering designs using computer-aided design software
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• One year or more experience working for an A/E firm or Utility company performing tasks aligned with the responsibilities
• Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications

• Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
• Knowledge of standard CAD Software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts, workflows and deliverables
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
