Job summary

HDR New England is seeking a CADD Technician to join our Power Delivery team in the Portland area. You will create and modify electric substation drawings, distribution drawings, and transmission line diagrams using CAD software.

You'll work under supervision with Architects/Engineers, contributing to accurate, maintainable drawings and documentation. Local candidates preferred and a commitment to our employee-owned culture is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical school degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.

HDR New England is seeking a CADD Technician to join our growing, nationally ranked Power Delivery team. Building on your established expertise in drafting and design, you will step into a role responsible for creating and/or modifying electric substation drawings, distribution drawings, and transmission line drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform discipline specific drafting assignments requiring application of standardized drawing techniques, under the direct supervision of an Architect/Engineer, or other technical professional
• Prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps and graphic representations of engineering designs using computer-aided design software
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• One year or more experience working for an A/E firm or Utility company performing tasks aligned with the responsibilities
• Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications

• Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
• Knowledge of standard CAD Software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts, workflows and deliverables
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
