Job summary

5 Factor Technology is seeking an experienced CADD Manager to lead and optimize CADD environments for engineering and design teams. You will own Bentley and Autodesk platforms, develop standards, templates, and workflows, and mentor junior staff to ensure reliable, scalable deployments.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering Technology, CAD-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting or managing CADD environments in engineering or AEC firms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership grounded in 5 Factor’s Success Factors and act as trusted client advisor on CADD standards & platform strategy.
• Own the administration, optimization, and support of Bentley and Autodesk design platforms across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud deployments.
• Diagnose, prioritize, and resolve complex client escalations related to CADD systems; document root causes and resolutions.
• Stay informed on emerging CADD technologies, licensing changes, and industry trends; drive continuous improvement and internal training.

Job description

5 Factor Technology is seeking an experienced CADD Manager to join their Texas team. The ideal candidate is both technically advanced and people-oriented—someone who can lead, mentor, troubleshoot complex issues, and proactively improve how CADD systems are deployed, supported, and optimized across client environments.

Position Summary

The CADD Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, technical leadership, and operational excellence of CADD environments supporting engineering and design teams. This role partners closely with internal leadership and client stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and standards-driven Autodesk and Bentley platforms.

Essential Functions

Leadership & Client Partnership

• Provide technical leadership grounded in 5 Factor’s Success Factors.
• Act as a trusted advisor for clients on CADD standards, workflows, and platform strategy
• Mentor and support junior CADD and support staff
• Communicate clearly and professionally with engineers, designers, project managers, and executives

CADD Platform Management

• Own the administration, optimization, and support of Bentley and Autodesk design platforms
• Establish and maintain CADD standards, templates, workspaces, and best practices
• Ensure stable and secure CADD environments across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud deployments
• Partner with IT and project teams on upgrades, migrations, and new system rollouts

Advanced Technical Support

• Receive, assess, and prioritize complex client escalations related to CADD systems
• Diagnose and resolve advanced software, configuration, and workflow issues
• Document issues, root causes, and resolutions within the helpdesk system
• Escalate vendor-related issues to Bentley and Autodesk as needed

Continuous Improvement

• Stay informed on emerging CADD technologies, licensing changes, and industry trends
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, and client experience
• Contribute to service development, documentation, and internal training efforts

Required Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering Technology, CAD-related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting or managing CADD environments in engineering or AEC firms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Essential Technical Skills

Bentley (Advanced – Required)

• Bentley ProjectWise administration (environments, permissions, integrations)
• Bentley MicroStation configuration and workspace management
• Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) administration and standards configuration
• Bentley OpenBridge Modeler (OBM) administration
• Experience supporting CADD standards across multiple Bentley versions
• Understanding of Bentley licensing (SELECT, Virtuoso, subscription models)

Autodesk (Advanced – Required)

• Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D configuration, customization, and support
• Management of templates, styles, tool palettes, and data shortcuts
• Autodesk Desktop Connector and cloud collaboration workflows
• Experience with Autodesk licensing, deployments, and version management
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is a plus

Supporting Technologies (Preferred)

• Microsoft 365 administration fundamentals
• Experience with virtualized or cloud-hosted CADD environments (Azure, Citrix, etc.)
• Scripting or automation exposure (PowerShell, batch, or similar)
