Thrive Now Recovery Center in Iowa City is seeking a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC/IADC) to join our clinical team. This role provides individual and group counseling, contributes to treatment planning, and collaborates with medical, nursing, peer support, and case management staff to support recovery.

Qualifications

• Current CADC or IADC credential recognized in Iowa.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, relapse prevention, and evidence‑based counseling approaches.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.
• Experience working in an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services.
• Complete clinical assessments and admissions tasks within credential scope.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans with patients and team.
• Facilitate recovery‑oriented groups and psychoeducation.
• Educate on SUD, relapse prevention, coping skills, and recovery planning.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, peer support, and case management teams.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and compliance.
• Assist with discharge and continuing‑care planning.
