Job summary

Lumen is seeking a CAD Technician III – Federal in Virginia to prepare, update, and maintain Inside Plant and Outside Plant drawings using AutoCAD. You will translate field notes and design inputs into compliant drawings and project documentation.

The role requires four years of drafting experience with AutoCAD 2020+, strong Excel proficiency, and the ability to learn standards. A TS/SCI clearance and GIS experience are preferred; you will collaborate with engineers and project teams to meet

Qualifications

Four years of drafting experience with AutoCAD 2020 or later.
Proficient with Excel for documentation and tracking.
Ability to learn, interpret, and apply standards and procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication for collaboration.

Responsibilities

Create, revise, and maintain Inside Plant drawings, including floor plans and rack elevations, and Outside Plant drawings, including fiber route and detail drawings, using AutoCAD and engineering field notes.
Develop and update project documentation in Microsoft Excel, including cable running lists, tables of contents, revision logs, and other required tracking materials.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other project stakeholders to support drawing deliverables, schedule commitments, and estimated labor requirements.
Contribute effectively in a team environment by supporting organizational objectives, following established procedures, and communicating project status, issues, and documentation needs in a timely manner.
