Job summary

Lumen is seeking an AutoCAD‑savvy draftsman to support engineers in designing floor and site plans for telecom/data center projects. You’ll draft 2D/3D drawings, maintain the drawings library, and work with GIS and mapping data.

You’ll partner with engineers and vendors to add as‑built information, verify layouts, and ensure accurate record drawings in SharePoint. This full‑time remote position emphasizes detail and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education with 3 years’ AutoCAD experience.
• AutoCAD proficiency with attention to detail and efficient turnaround.
• Preferred: telecom/data center design, architectural design, electrical/AC 1-line design.
• GIS/mapping or civil design experience.
• AutoCAD Map 3D and basic AutoLISP/.NET skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to create initial designs for new projects.
• Floor plans may include additions or removals of equipment, or new construction.
• Site plan work may include property line research using GIS data, survey angles, Bing Map imagery, and adding buildings/roads.
• AC 1-Line work includes electrical symbol work.
• Research missing information.
• Add as-built information to record drawings with engineers or vendors.
• Locate objects accurately using offsets or construction lines.
• Create/modify 2D & 3D blocks and dynamic blocks.
• Create PDFs on design or update completion.
• Manage drawing workflow with SharePoint.
• Maintain work records in internal systems.
• Serve as SME for AutoCAD assistance to planners/engineers.
• Collaborate with engineers on internal AutoCAD programming/tools to find efficiencies.
