Job summary

Team Fishel in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a CAD Survey Technician II to support our Electric utility survey division with drafting duties. You will work with the Land Surveyor, field crews, and fellow CAD technicians to prepare and maintain survey basemaps for design and construction teams.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of land survey drafting experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and the ability to read deeds and plats. Carlson Survey experience is a plus and 40+ hours per week are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years land survey drafting experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD drafting software; Carlson Survey experience preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret deeds, plats, and construction plans.
• Familiarity with land records research is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, track, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• High attention to detail, with ability to provide QA/QC to your work.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, taking direction and training as needed.
• Availability to work 40+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct survey computations for boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout work.
• Process daily field data from field crews.
• Drafting to include easement exhibits and topographic survey basemaps.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with office staff and field crews.
