Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking an Experienced CAD Operator for our Natural Gas team in Chicago, IL. You will prepare and verify drawings for gas distribution and pipeline design, including metering and regulation station layouts.

You'll apply engineering principles, maintain databases, and may mentor CAD staff while aligning with our standards and procedures. The role emphasizes accuracy, independence, and teamwork within a supportive project environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred).
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk or Bentley products (CADWorx preferred).
• Detail oriented with professional attitude and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Make and quality check drawings and plans for gas distribution and pipeline design.
• Metering and regulation station designs.
• Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes.
• Maintains drawing database.
• May supervise and train CAD staff.
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.
