Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a CAD Manager to lead our CAD team across multiple offices, including Minnetonka. You will oversee SUE and utility mapping deliverables in AutoCAD Civil 3D for DOT and utility projects, mentor staff, and drive workflow automation.

Responsibilities include assigning workload, QA/QC, training programs, and coordinating with project managers to meet deadlines and budgets while maintaining CAD standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CAD drafting experience on SUE, utility mapping, and survey.
• 3+ years leading or managing a CAD team.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (surfaces, alignments, templates).
• Experience with Trimble Business Center and ArcGIS.
• Ability to develop training programs and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of CAD technicians across multiple projects, meeting deadlines and budgets.
• Train and mentor CAD staff on Civil 3D, Trimble, ArcGIS, standards, and SUE deliverables.
• Develop onboarding plans and reference materials for CAD staff.
• Oversee QA/QC of CAD deliverables before submittal.
• Lead AutoCAD automation tool development to improve speed and consistency.
• Prepare CAD drawings and SUE deliverables for DOT, land development, renewables, utilities.
• Coordinate with project managers and field crews on project needs.
