Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is offering a designer internship based in Columbus, OH. The role requires proficiency with CAD to create and update 3D inventory parts, assemblies, and drawings, as well as 2D AutoCAD Electrical drawings.

Positions are onsite five days a week, building a foundation for your engineering career. Minimum qualifications include one year toward an AAS in drafting/CAD or related field, at least 18 years old, a December 2027 or later graduation date, and a GPA of 3.0+.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year toward an associate degree in AAS drafting/CAD or relevant equivalent.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be 18 years old or older and graduation date December 2027 or later.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise and maintain engineering drawings and sketches.
• Support documentation for facilities and equipment; including construction and records.
• Obtain information from verbal notes, sketches, field notes and vendor catalogs.
• Perform mathematical calculations as required.
• Read vendor prints and integrate instructions into work.
