Job summary

Superior Machine Company is seeking a Process Engineering Technician to assist the process engineering team in designing and detailing projects. You will translate concepts into detailed drawings, produce technical information for sales and customers, and support shop personnel to meet timelines and costs.

The role requires solid proficiency in SolidWorks or drafting software, blueprint comprehension, and good math skills, with an associate degree or equivalent education.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology, applied sciences, or process technology.
• High school diploma with vocational or on-the-job training in some entry-level roles.
• Certifications in quality control or safety (such as Six Sigma) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a team atmosphere to solve customer design requirements.
• Prepare concept drawings and technical information for sales, customer discussions and quoting.
• Communicate design issues with sales, manufacturing personnel and customer contacts.
• Perform calculation analysis during the design stage as needed.
• Transform conceptual designs into detailed manufacturing drawings using current standards.
• Prepare job packages per current procedures.
• Incorporate approved manufacturing changes into As Built drawings.
• Provide technical support to shop supervisors to meet timelines cost-effectively.
• Periodically assist Planning with project processing.
• Provide on-site technical assistance to sales personnel.
